Note: Joel Hamrick, a son of Patrick Hamrick Jr. was born in 1770,
probably in Prince William County VA and died in Clay County VA (WV)
in 1860. He came to McMillion Creek in what is now Nicholas County WV
before 1810. He moved to Robinson Fork in what is now Clay County WV
in 1830. He died sometime after 1850.
His wife was Mary -------. Mary was born 1765-1770 and died
between 1840 and 1850 in Nicholas County.

Note: William Newton Hamrick, a son of Joel and Mary Hamrick, was born
December 16, 1798, probably in Prince William County MD and died in
Clay County WV June 27, 1876. He married Isabelle Walker in Nicholas
County VA (WV) May 13, 1819. Isabelle was born October 12,1803 and
died October 15, 1828.
William married Elizabeth Brown June 26, 1834. Elizabeth, a
daughter of Alexander and Mary (Foster) Brown, was born in Monroe
County VA October 12, 1807 and died in Clay County WV April 6, 1884.

WILLIAM HAMRICK, Son of JOEL was also a school teacher, lawyer and Methodist Minister. Courthouse records show he held offices in the County of Clay. he served in the Union Army. He built and operated a grist mill at Swandale. (William Kyle History). He was a gunsmith and furniture maker. He Married 13 May 1819 by Rev. Edward Hughes, Isabelle Walker, Daughter of Hiram Walker, Tipton, WV married in Kessler Cross Lanes, Nicholas County, VA/WV. (source, Nicholas Co. Marriages).

Sarah Hamrick, a daughter of Joel and Mary Hamrick, was born
September 29, 1796 and died April 6, 1877. She married Isaac Chrisman
Fitzwater in Kanawha County VA (WV) July 29,1814. Isaac, a son child
of Thomas McCaslin and Mary (Quehen) Fitzwater, was born October 12,
1791 and died July 29 1883.
