born in VA December 3, 1819 and died in Clay County WV June 8, 1903.
He first married Wilmuth Jones. He married Margaret Spencer in
Rockbridge County VA in 1849. Margaret was born in Staunton, Va July
25, 1826.

Susan "Maggie" Dodrill in Nicholas County WV October 28, 1886.
Margaret, a daughter of Arthur Earl and Jane (Hamrick) Dodrill, was
born in Nicholas County April 30, 1870 and died there April 21, 1893.
Henry married Annie B. Norris October 26, 1897.

Wilson, was born January 25, 1858 and died November 20, 1930. She
married Samuel Houston "Buck" Ashley January 3, 1878. Samuel, a son
of Richard "Buck" and Elizabeth Ashley, was born December 27, 1856 and
died October 4, 1933.

Family moved to Nicholas County about 1881

Daniel was a school teacher for several years in Clay County. He gave it up when he felt a call to preach. Being a Methodist Minister (Circuit Rider) the family was moved from place to place in Roan, Clay, Fayette and Kanawha Counties where the children attended public schools.

Bomont Methodist Church: This church was built and organized by the charter members of the old church which burned in 1913 and took it's name from the community post office and school. The organizing members were: Washington King, Charley Samples, John Morris, Mary King, and B. V. Samples. The first pastor was Daniel Wilson.
