William Thomas Wilson "Bill"
The following is paraphrased from the writings of Ella Kuntz (Sprouse) Wilson wife of Bill.

Bill finished 8th grade at Glen, West Virginia. At the age of 16 Bill started working for the New York Central Railroad as clerk and later as station agent at Elkview and Blue Creek, WV.

On Mar 4, 1918 he enlisted in the US Arrmy WWI, and served until Apr 19, 1919. He was stationed at camp Meigs, Washington, D.C. and camp MacArthur, Wayco, Texas. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant First Class.

In 1920 Bill started forking in the coal mines in Nicholas and Caly Counties WV. On Dec 1, 1922 Bill married Ruthie Jane Henshaw daughter of Perry and Louisia Henshaw, of Vaughn, WV. They forst started housekeeping at Vaughn, WV where Bill worked in the coal mines.

Bill moved to Fayetteville, WV in 1925 and worked for the New River Pocahontas Consolated Coal Company until Jun 1945. During the 25 years, he worked at every job in and around the coal mines, from track layer to mine foreman. He has a mine foreman's vertificate #6220 dated Oct 24, 1923. He completed mine rescue and first aid training with the WV Department of mines Apr 1, 1926, certificate #550.

Bill's mother and father moved in with him to keep house adn care for Ermal. They became aged and infirm so his widowed sister Dicey adn her three sons, Conner, Othe and Fouch Rule came and kept house for them all. Dicey remained until 1951 after Bill and Ella were married.

On April 26, 1937 Bill bought his house in Fayetteville WV. He purchased it from Home Land Association for $2,700.00, and a plot of ground in lower Fayetteville valued at $800.00, Total for home $3,500.00.

Note:    Hazel William Wilson, a son of Charles W. and Margaret (Spencer)
Wilson, was born in Clay County WV September 4, 1864 and died there
April 24, 1944. He married Emma Ellen Dodrill in Nicholas County WV
February 23, 1888.

Emma, a daughter of Arthur Earl and Jane (Hamrick)
Dodrill, was born in Nicholas County June 30, 1868 and died in Kanawha
County WV April 3, 1934.

Note:    Charles Randolph Wilson, a son of Daniel and Mary Elizabeth
(Hamrick) Wilson, was born November 4, 1882 and disappeared in 1925
and was presumed dead. He married Lydia Ann Belle Duffield April 13,
1902. Lydia was born April 19, 1880 and died about 1908.
Charles married Nakola Oma Bragg about 1910. She was born in
Fayette County WV in 1889 and died in 1918. Charles third wife was
Angie Booth. Apparently Angie married ------ Miller and he adopted
her children by Charles. They all used the Miller surname.
